About

My name is Laura, and I am a nerd. I love books and movies, but especially books. My favorites include classic British literature (especially Jane Austen!), cozy mysteries (especially Agatha Christie!), and fantasy (especially Harry Potter!). As for movies, I mostly watch adaptations of my favorite books and other period dramas, but other stuff too. This website is for my very informal reviews on whatever I feel like.

I also have a youtube channel I just started posting videos on. I don’t have many viewers or subscribers yet, so take a look if you’re interested: marspeachgirl’s Channel

And my Goodreads, in case you want to see what I think about other books I haven’t posted here: Laura’s Goodreads

Mr Darcy, for insance, is my dream man, my idol..He inspires me…
What is your opinion of him?

Loved all your reviews of the various Jane Austen movies. It would be interesting if you were to do a post with your dream cast for each book…

I am totally with you on the review of the 2007 film adaptation of Persuasion. I’m currently in a Jane Austen book club, reading Persuasion. I decided to re-watch both versions (1995 and 2007) of the film after finishing the book. The leader of our discussion group mentioned the so-called “lost” chapters or alternative endings. So, I dug them out and read them and it hit me…why did both film versions cop the “lost” chapter endings?? Weird. And the whole buying Kellynch thing was beyond bizarre. Loved your review. Thank you.
